What Is Fleet Blasting & Coating?

Fleet blasting and coating is the process of preparing and protecting commercial vehicles, trailers, and marine vessels with industrial-grade surface treatments. Quad Cities Blasting & Industrial Coatings Group strips existing coatings to SSPC SP-10 Near-White Metal, then applies zinc-rich primers, epoxy systems, urethane topcoats, and polyurea bed liners engineered for maximum corrosion resistance and service life.

  • Full fleet service, trucks, trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and barges
  • SSPC SP-10 Near-White Metal surface preparation standard
  • Zinc-rich primers for galvanic corrosion protection
  • Epoxy and urethane topcoats for chemical and abrasion resistance
  • Polyurea bed liners and spray-on protective coatings
  • Marine-grade coatings for barges and river vessels

The Process

How Fleet Blasting & Coating Works

01

Fleet Assessment

We inspect each vehicle or vessel, document existing corrosion and coating condition, and develop a coating specification matched to your operating environment and service requirements.

02

Abrasive Blasting

Steel grit or garnet blasting strips all existing coatings, rust, and mill scale to SSPC SP-10 Near-White Metal, creating the anchor profile required for maximum coating adhesion and longevity.

03

Coating System Application

We apply a multi-coat system: zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, and urethane or polyurea topcoat. Each coat is applied to specified DFT and inspected before the next coat is applied.

Coating Systems

Coating Systems for Fleet & Marine

Engineered Protection for Every Application

Zinc-Rich Primer

Corrosion Protection

Inorganic and organic zinc-rich primers provide galvanic protection for steel substrates. Essential first coat for trucks, trailers, and marine vessels operating in corrosive environments.

Epoxy Intermediate

Chemical Resistance

High-build epoxy coatings provide a barrier against moisture, chemicals, and abrasion. Applied over zinc primer to build film thickness and protect against cargo and road chemical exposure.

Urethane Topcoat

UV & Abrasion Resistance

Aliphatic urethane topcoats deliver color retention, UV resistance, and surface hardness. Ideal for fleet vehicles requiring a durable, professional finish that holds up to road and weather exposure.

Polyurea Bed Liner

Impact & Abrasion

Spray-applied polyurea provides extreme impact resistance, flexibility, and waterproofing for truck beds, trailer floors, and cargo areas subject to heavy loading and abrasive materials.
