CLEANING THROUGH BLASTING

Industrial cleaning isn't one-size-fits-all. We use blasting technology, abrasive, dustless, and dry ice, to strip, clean, and restore surfaces that conventional pressure washing or chemical cleaning can't touch. The method and media we choose depends entirely on what's being cleaned, what it's made of, and what it needs to be ready for.

  • Old coatings, rust, mill scale, and corrosion removed to bare substrate
  • Dirt, grease, biological growth, and contamination eliminated
  • Food-grade and pharmaceutical equipment cleaned with dry ice, zero residue, no chemicals
  • Surface profiled and ready for recoating in a single operation
  • OSHA-certified crew, safe practices on every job site
Dry Ice Blasting
Food-grade, chemical-free, zero residue, for equipment that cannot get wet or contaminated
Abrasive Blasting
Heavy rust, old coatings, mill scale, stripped to bare metal and profiled for recoating
Dustless Blasting
All the cleaning power of abrasive blasting with up to 92% less airborne dust

Our Process

HOW WE APPROACH EVERY CLEANING JOB

01

Surface Assessment

We evaluate what's being cleaned, the substrate material, what's on it (coating, rust, grease, contamination), and what the surface needs to be ready for after cleaning.

02

Method & Media Selection

We select the blasting method (abrasive, dustless, or dry ice) and the specific media based on the surface type, contamination level, and whether food-grade or chemical-free cleaning is required.

03

Clean, Profile & Hand Off

We blast to the specified cleanliness standard, SSPC SP-6 through SP-5, leaving the surface clean, profiled, and ready for coating, inspection, or return to service.

Media & Method Selection

CLEANING MEDIA & METHODS

Right media. Right method. Right result.

Every cleaning job gets a media and method matched to the surface. Here's what we use and when we use it.

Food Grade / Chemical-FreeHeavy Rust & CoatingsLight / FinishingDust-SensitiveEnvironmentally SensitivePrecision / Hard Metals

Dry Ice Blasting

Food Grade / Chemical-Free

Best for: Food processing equipment, pharmaceutical machinery, electrical panels, conveyors, ovens

CO2 pellets sublimate on impact, zero secondary waste, no moisture, no chemicals. The only cleaning method safe for energized equipment and food-contact surfaces. Removes grease, carbon buildup, adhesives, and biological contamination without disassembly.

Steel Grit

Heavy Rust & Old Coatings

Best for: Structural steel, bridges, heavy equipment frames, tank exteriors, industrial machinery

Angular steel particles cut through heavy rust, mill scale, and thick coating systems down to bare metal. Achieves SSPC SP-10 near-white and SP-5 white metal profiles. The go-to for ferrous metal surfaces with severe corrosion or multi-layer coating removal.

Garnet

Precision Cleaning

Best for: Pipelines, pressure vessels, marine structures, stainless steel

Hard, angular mineral abrasive with low free silica. Produces a consistent anchor profile with minimal embedment into the substrate. Ideal when a clean, tight profile is needed without the risk of steel contamination on non-ferrous surfaces.

Crushed Glass

Environmentally Sensitive

Best for: Concrete, masonry, aluminum, galvanized steel, wood structures

Recycled glass grit is chemically inert and sharp. Strips old coatings and surface contamination without introducing metallic contamination. Preferred on non-ferrous substrates and job sites with strict environmental controls.

Coal Slag

High-Volume Cleaning

Best for: Large industrial structures, tank interiors, shipyard work, bridge decks

Dense, angular slag delivers aggressive cutting action and fast production rates. Cost-effective for large-scale coating removal and rust cleaning on structural steel. Achieves SSPC SP-10 profiles efficiently on high-volume projects.

Glass Bead

Light Cleaning & Finishing

Best for: Stainless steel, decorative metals, precision parts, light surface cleaning

Spherical beads produce a smooth, peened finish without cutting deep. Used for light cleaning, deburring, and cosmetic surface prep where a tight anchor profile is not required. Leaves a bright, uniform finish on metal surfaces.

Aluminum Oxide

Hard Metals & Precision

Best for: Aerospace components, hardened steel, specialty alloys, precision equipment

Extremely hard and sharp, one of the most aggressive abrasives available. Used when a very consistent, tight anchor profile is required on hardened or specialty metals. Produces a clean, angular profile ideal for high-performance coating adhesion.

Dustless (Wet) Blasting

Dust-Sensitive Environments

Best for: Active facilities, occupied buildings, over-water work, food plants, populated job sites

Water is injected into the blast stream, suppressing up to 92% of airborne dust. All the cleaning power of dry blasting without the dust cloud. Rust inhibitor in the water prevents flash rust for hours after cleaning. Ideal when containment tenting is impractical or cost-prohibitive.

Our Expertise

WE PICK THE MEDIA, YOU GET THE RESULT

You don't need to know which abrasive to specify. Tell us what you're cleaning, what it's made of, and what it needs to be ready for, we'll select the right method and media, get it done to SSPC standards, and hand it back ready for coating or return to service.

Why Blast-Clean

WHY BLAST-CLEAN INSTEAD OF PRESSURE WASH?

  • Removes old coatings, rust, and mill scale, not just surface dirt
  • Profiles the surface in the same pass, ready for coating immediately
  • Reaches complex geometry, welds, and tight spaces pressure washing can't
  • Dry ice option leaves zero residue, no cleanup, no chemicals, no downtime
  • SSPC-certified results documented for coating warranty compliance
  • One contractor handles cleaning and coating, no scheduling gaps
